Good, not yet great, integrated back office system

Office makes a solid back-office contribution. Other separate programs may well do a better job at their specialty, but for a smaller firm, MStar Office gets the job done at a reasonable price.

Integrating non-Schwab portfolio information (e.g., outside annuities, etc.) is nearly impossible (even though the program supposedly is able to accomplish this). As a result, overall usability is diminished. Reports are somewhat limited and formatting is not the easiest (e.g., columns get truncated and there seems to be no way to correct this). Overall, though, it's a good program at a competitive price.

Great Financial Planning program; good for client interaction

MGP is a goal-oriented program, which I prefer. Once a record is created, it's pretty easy to build a profile. MGP integrates nicely with Junxure and does a good job importing client data. The reports look good, are customizable, and capture the relevant information. Finmetrica is a great risk management tool, and it perfectly integrates with MGP. I am still learning the best ways to use this with clients, but I like the program so far. MGP will let you forward a link to clients so they can walk through the Goal Wizard. This allows them to invest their own time in identifying and quantifying their goals, which makes for a more efficient process in the office. Overall, I have been very happy with MGP.

We are still learning how to get the most out of Junxure. Great program. A bit overkill for us at this point (three-person office). May be more than we need.
